Wound field motor
Magnetless and environmentally friendly wound field motor.
A motor that uses windings instead of permanent magnets in the rotor, thus "not using permanent magnets." Since there are no magnets, by varying the amount of current supplied to the coils wound on the rotor, it is possible to vary the generated magnetic flux, enabling control similar to field weakening in IPM types, which expands the range of variable speeds compared to IPM motors. Without magnets, rare earth materials are, of course, unnecessary! It is an environmentally friendly eco-motor. Currently under development, we are also seeking joint research with universities and collaborative development with companies regarding materials and configurations.
